Close to 25,000 Lost Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Storms
Nearly 25,000 homes in southeastern Queensland found themselves experiencing outages on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the region, generating strong winds hitting over 100 km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Destruction
Locals witnessed giant hailstones measuring up to 7cm in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.

Emergency crews were working to restore power throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews working to manage the widespread outages.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
Simultaneously, nearly 1,000 households in the southern state also faced power outages after Melbourne saw its most precipitation in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams received over five hundred requests for assistance across the area, primarily for building damage but also for downed trees and inundation.

- Wyndham area - over 175 emergency requests
During the peak on the previous day, in excess of twenty-eight thousand power users in the state were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Moist weather were predicted to continue along much of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent severe weather risk expected across multiple regions of both areas.
Medical Alert
Health officials cautioned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after previous incidents where comparable situations led to substantial respiratory problems in the region.
