The Blue Jays Claim Fall Classic Meeting With Los Angeles Dodgers

George Springer celebrating

Springer previously helped the Astros claiming the championship in the 2017 season.

Canada's MLB team reached their maiden Fall Classic following 1993 by defeating the Mariners in the decisive Game 7 of the AL Championship Series.

Down 3-1, outfielder George Springer smashed a three-run homer in the seventh inning, guiding the Toronto squad in Major League Baseball to a four games to three victory in the seven-game series. Awaiting them are the defending champions, who are the defending champions, in the forthcoming Fall Classic.

"I'm just so happy for this squad, our city, Canada," said Springer, an integral part of the Astros team that claimed the 2017 World Series. "This is such an incredible feeling."

The veteran has now hit 23 total post-season home runs, ranking him third all-time after Manny Ramirez (29) and Altuve (twenty-seven).

"I can't think of another player on planet Earth that I'd choose in that situation besides George Springer with his post-season brilliance," remarked manager John Schneider.

Seattle, who had led the series two games to none and three games to two, are still the one club that has never reached in a championship series.

Mariners manager Dan Wilson stated "there's no question that it's going to sting" in the wake of his side's defeat at Rogers Centre, but praised their work throughout the year.

"This is a unique group. It's a shame that we ended up on the losing end of this game," he added.

Toronto won the World Series on their two prior appearances in 1992 and 1993, and are set to host the Dodgers in the opener on Friday.
