Three Shortlisted for Young Athlete of the Year Honour

English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts sensation Luke Littler and cricket star Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the upcoming Young Athlete of the Year award.
The three finalists have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the previous year.
Agyemang played a key role in helping the Lionesses secure Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the first time, and Perrin burst onto the scene with a record-breaking innings.
Littler won the award in 2024 after his remarkable rise.
The shortlisted athletes were revealed during a live broadcast on a widely-listened-to radio show.
The champion will be revealed live on the prestigious sports ceremony show on Thursday, 18 December.
The show will be aired from seven in the evening GMT.
Agyemang's Profile
Age: 19 Sport: Football
A mere three months after her senior team debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to European Championship victory.
She entered the fray to score vital last-gasp goals in both the knockout stage games.
These match-saving moments led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Afterwards, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been on loan at Brighton from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being nominated for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I thank God and I'm grateful for the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
The Darts Prodigy

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - while still 17 - he became the most youthful world title winner in history.
He secured a commanding win over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His subsequent victory at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth player to complete the prestigious triple crown of major titles.
And he wasn't finished there - his win in November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he climbed to world number one for the very first time.
At 18, he is the youngest man to do so, breaking the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a massive accolade," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a proud moment for me and I've had another unbelievable 12 months. I want to continue raising the profile of darts."
Davina Perrin
Age: 19 Sport: Cricket
Perrin is one of English cricket's brightest emerging stars and surged to prominence with an extraordinary and record-breaking innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the joint third-fastest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin came in second place in the run-scoring charts and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the young athlete award," expressed Perrin. "This is phenomenal. I hope it inspires more young women to get into cricket."
